A Gatlinburg Tennessee Wedding

There are so many things that make these two special.  The fact that they have known each other for years, and the love between them grew with every passing day.  That they were both student athletes at their Alma mater.  That their love and appreciation for family brings them closer together.  That their adventurous nature allows their lives to be filled with fun and laughter.  However you look at it, these two were meant to be together – and it shows.  They are both full of life and fun, their laughter and smiles were the stars of the day.  It was infectious, spreading to every guest at the wedding.  And they had the liveliest group of friends!  It was no secret that their passion for life attracted the most fun group of people into their lives!  With no shortage of people who love them, the day was one for the books!

Not to mention, this was a surprise wedding!  The families were in on the surprise, but that was it!  Aly and Jess’s closest friends flew in from all over for their bacherlorette weekend in the mountains.  Little did they know that the next day, the girls would say “I Do” on the deck of their Gatlinburg Tennessee wedding cabin with a beautiful mountain backdrop.  When they reached out to me to photograph the wedding, I was so excited!  Not only because I love these two dearly, but because who doesn’t want to be a part of such a big surprise!  I love surprises, even though i’m not very good at keeping secrets…  but we pulled it off and I am so excited to share their day with you!

It started as a rainy day in Pigeon Forge Tennessee, and that Smokey Mountain fog was doing its thing!  Laying thick on the mountains from the view of their huge rental cabin.  I happen to love rainy mornings.  They are so calm and peaceful, and set such a serene tone for the day.  Of course Aly and Jess were concerned that we wouldn’t be able to see the mountains during their ceremony.  But, like it always does, the fog cleared at the perfect time to reveal the beautiful Tennessee mountains.  We had the perfect weather for that Saturday wedding, and we made the most of it!
