Design elements are one of the many parts that go into a compelling and visually powerful brand and website design. As a brand and website designer, three of my top priorities are:
- Making sure your brand and website feel like you – this helps weed out those less than ideal clients. â
- Building strategy into each step of the process – pretty design is awesome, but design that makes money is better. â
- Giving you everything you need all wrapped up with a bow – I want you to come back to me, but I don’t want you to need to. â
â When you are getting prepared to build an online presence, these priorities are where I start. And, design elements are an essential part of making these priorities come to life! Today, letâs chat all about the must-have design elements for your brand:
What is a brand element?
But, first, what even is a brand element? If youâre feeling a little lost right now, donât sweat Queen because I have your back. Essentially, a brand element is:
A component of your brand that distinguishes your business from other businesses.
Your brand should represent your business mission, values, and purpose. And, a brand element is just one piece of the puzzle that helps bring that vision to life! Itâs pretty cool when you think about it. Because all of these little pieces are silently working together to make an extra LOUD impact.
Without brand elements, you wouldnât have much of a tangible brand! Plus, the feelings your brand evokes in others would be hard to replicate without specific visual brand elements. I look at brand elements for every design project and you would be surprised with how many variations you can include for one element alone. That’s a good thing if you know what you’re doing! But, if it’s all a little overwhelming for you, it can be a lot to process.
So, if you’ve been wondering what to even include in your design elements, keep reading for my top tips.
What to include in your design elements?Â
Creating effortless and beautiful brands is what I do best! This is exactly why I love chatting about these must-have design elements. This is going to serve the foundation of your business and help you attract clients with ease. Because I don’t ever want you to feel overwhelmed when it comes to choosing elements,I have a quick list to help you get started on the right foot. Here are three brand elements you should include:
Â
- A logo. Your logo should represent what your business stands for and help you stand out from competitors. Even better, a good logo will bring brand recognition across platforms and marketing collateral.
- Fonts. Youâll want a font that, again, represents your business and your vibe. As an online business owner, your fonts will not only be used in your logo but in the different social content you create to market your business. I suggest having one main font that you use for regular text and one font for your headers.
- Color palette. Your color palette will most likely be the first thing your ideal clientâs eyes are drawn to. So, what will it say about your business? The world runs according to color, so color has the opportunity to entice your leads or to turn them away.
Â
This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to creating brand elements that speak to your ideal clients. If you’re looking for even more guidance and support, I’ve got your back. Let me tell you how:
